So i bought a 92 prelude that was not running. I had another engine that i was going to swap into it, but i found out that the engine wasn't the problem. The ignition lock cylinder thing on the inside of the car was messed up. So i bought a new one for 80 bucks and put it on and the engine started right up. But it makes this noise and im not sure what it is
. It sounds like it is coming from the valve cover but im not entirely sure. here is a video:

let me know what you think it is

Thats what i was thinking. I have a whole other engine, i guess i could trade out the heads if its really bad. Im going to pop off the cover tomorrow to see if i can see anything blatantly wrong. Other than the noise it runs good without hesitation and there is no cel popping up.
If anyone else knows of anything else that it could be, let me know. I would really appreciate it before i go trying to fix it.
Thanks.

holy crap that's a horrible noise. Grab a rubber hose and pinpoint the area where it's coming from before pulling the head.
From the sound of the clip, I'd say it's too loud and not quite a ticking or clicking so I don't think it's your lash.
Try to find out the following things:
Is it worse when the engine is still cold?
Is it worse when you accelerate/decelerate?
How does it sound at idle once it's hot?
Is there a certain engine speed when the sound changes?
what happens under hard load?
Unless the sound clip is really loud or something, my initial suspicion is a worn piston pin or rod bearing. If that's true, there's a good chance the other three in the block could be experiencing a less severe condition of looseness.
