Default d16a6 dc sports header owners - lengthen O2 wire?

I am looking to buy a dc sports header for my crx si. Is the o2 sensor bung at the bottom of the down pipe close to the cat? If it is, will the wire reach or do I have to lengthen it? From the pictures it looks like its at the bottom. Or maybe the header I am planing on buying is not the crx one. The stock location of the o2 sensor is up top near the head.

might have 2 lengthen it because that wire on the crx is really short to even get down there.

Why yes I do. You need a foot of wire, and some solder. Cut the existing O2 wire by the connector NOT by the sensor and splice the wire in.

It not only works but works grrrrrreat.

i use a DC 1 piece ceramic header for a Z6. (different than the DC A6 header) the O2 sensor bung is near the cat.

i have found you do NOT need to lengthen the O2 sensor wire. you just need to reroute the harness over the tranny, it fits just fine with just a bit of slack. perfect.

ive also heard that changing the length of the wire can change the resistance of the sensor, which might trip the ecu. take it as hearsay, but makes sense to me.

but the reality is you dont need to lengthen anything to reach behind the engine.

ok, thanks.
its wierd how a header meant for the a6 has the o2 bung in a different place than stock. I will buy this used one with no hardware.
I guess all I need is the gaskets and bolts to connect the header to the down pipe.

I HAVE THE SAME HEADER AND I DIDNT HAVE ANY BOLTS FOR THE DOWN PIPE SO I FOUND SOME SHORT MOTOR MOUNT BOLTS THAT ARE 14MM AND THEY WORKED GOOD AND FOR THE GASKET I USED RUBBER GASKET SEALER THAT THEY SELL AT DISCOUNT AND I DONT HAVE ANY LEAKS

I have a DC sport header on my A6 and I was wondering if the o2 sensor bung was welded in the wrong place(right before the cat), but after this thread I guess that is how DC makes them.

I don't know if the wire on my O2 sensor is lenghted because I bought the car with the header already on it. I think if I remember correctky they did lenghten the O2 sensor wire. I would try to reroute the wire first.

thats the answer I needed. Now I know that the header is the one I need.
Wait, maybe the one on your car was from another car.
Ahh, whatever. I'll just buy it and make it fit.
Thanks everyone.
