Default Type R Head

Type R Heads are VTEC Ready right?

Is it true that B16 Heads are better then Type R Heads?

Yes they are. Try searching next time. If you think b16 heads are better than a type-r than you need to punch yourself in the face.

The "Type R head" is essentially a cleaned up "B16A head".

I'm not a Honda guy. There were some kids in my school argueing (bout 6 months ago though) about the B16 and Type R head. Just wanted to see some answers from a Honda forum.

Thanks though

Type R is VTEC.

Type R head is a B16 head with a bowl port, cleaned up casting marks, and better angles on the valve job.

It would've been classic if he had said. "Are type r heads vtech ready?".

Type-R heads have 5 times as much V-Attack as b16 heads. Type-R heads also wear bigger hats than b16 heads.

Type R heads have more aggressive cams and a mild port and polish over the b16 which makes it flow better at higher RPM's

just my $0.02
