Default Introduction Video To Removing/Installing an Eprom Chip & How to Chip a USDM Ecu.

I made two short videos to help customers out which buy the DIY chip/chipkit we offer.
I figured I would post these vides to help those new to the ecu world

How to remove/install a 28 pin eprom chip in a socketed ecu

How to socket/chip an obd1 ecu

These are just run throughs, they are not actual step by step videos.

If you don't understand what a chipped ecu is or what tuning is etc.
You should click here and read phearable.net's EFI intro guide.

Remove rp18 & rp17 and add a jumper at rp18.

simply put a 5speed program on your JDM auto P30 ecu and will become a 5speed ecu. No special jumpers need to be cut or added, just a simple reprogram.

You can still remove rp18 & rp17 and jump rp18 on a jdm ecu.

I have yet to try running a crome rom file on a automatic jdm ecu without performing the hardware conversion.

The reason I have not tried this is all usdm ecus throw a code 19 without performing the hardware conversion on crome...

Try it without using Crome

I prefer to convert the ecus via the hardware method so I do not have to have my customer's come back to me telling me they are throwing a code 19 due to running a crome rom file.

I have seen plenty of other "ecu chippers" be lazy & not perform this conversion.
