Does the A6 Trans Bolt onto to a D16A1 block?

Or here is my problem with the trans, it wont hardly go into 2nd. It falls out of gear a lot. And I have over filled it because the 5th was whining and when I pulled the outside cover off it still didn't have any oil on the 5th gear set at all. and it was really hot also!
