Default Good Deck with SD-card and USB input?

Are there any brand name decks that have both of these?

Also, for those decks that do have USB input, can you plug in a portable HD in them? USB thumb drive?

I haven't seen any with both... Yet...

And yes, you can plug anything you want into the USB port. However, it will not power a hard drive by itself through the port. I installed a Kenwood unit for a coworker a few months ago, and he wanted to hook up his 100+ GB laptop HD to it directly, and it would recognize the drive, but as soon as it started spinning at read speed, it would shut off. He powered it externally and it worked just dandy.

Not exactly a reputable brand (it's Best Buy's own brand).

Yes. Insignia is Best Buy's brand. It's ranked right up there with Rockwood and Durabrand (Wal*Mart')... Rock on.

This JVC unit has a price of $449 MSRP. If this is above your budget, go to Best Buy and try out the Insignia unit. Its MSRP is $149.

I thought about that, but then remembered that most readers require a driver install, so I don't know if that would work... But it won't hurt to try!

I don't know about u.. but imo...

a wire coming from ur head.. to a drive.. is just.. ugly.. and gets in the way...

if ur using a usb thumb drive... then u just have this stick.. sticking out of ur head unit...

i just think its ...well ugly...

if they make em with a usb port in the rear of the deck.. or on a pig tail.. u can then wire up ur own port.. in a more reasonable place...

like that pocket area in the eg

or in an arm rest... or something like that....

having a stick or a wire come out from the dash.. is just.. in the way...

Too lazy to quote... But Kenwood units have USB on the back.
