Knock Sensor Question....

Knock Sensor Question....
I have an OBDI ECU and the plugs that I have is missing the knock sensor wire... There is no wire there as if the plug does not supply it. Is it important that I need the Knock Sensor or I can do without it. But if I need it than I how do I go about adding a wire to the plug?
