Do 4-1 header make a difference in MPG
Hey guy, we took off the cold air intake on my friends car because we thought that was why the car was wasting so much gas. The mpg got better, but it still kind of sucks. should we take off the header as well? Will the jdm header make that big a difference in mpg, or does the car just normally waste this much gas. Also, the car wastes more gas on the freeway then in the city. in the city he shifts quickly, but on the freeway were stuck at 4k+ rpm, and when we get off the freeway, the gas just drops. Is this what you guys go through too?

I'm confused. Why put aftermarket parts on a car to swap efficiency for power and then bitch about shitty gas mileage? WTF?
Anyway, when was the last time you checked the motor out? Plugs? Dizzy and rotor? Wires? Timing? etc etc etc
To answer your question, I'm running a **** load of performance add ons, including F/I @ 7.5lbs and I can still get around 30mpg if I shift around 4k and don't hammer the throttle.

the car barely has 50k on the motor, but im not sure if it needs a tune up. just wondering how much you guys get with a full tank, im going to fill it up and see how much i can get out of it. Its also completely back to stock, so hopefully that will help
havenign a passenger or a loaded car really effects how any mpg you get. I do a bit of highway driving (as I live between 2 cities), and when I have a full car load MPG probably drops 25% compared to when I am driving an empty car.
Actually I noticed am Increase in mpg when I drive with 1/2 a tank and fill up once as compared to one full tank!
