Hondata S300 (SManager) or Crome
Sorry if this has been covered already, but I wanted some opinions and recommendations for my ECU setup. I am fully aware of the physical modifications needed for both of these, the software will probably be the deciding factor. I'm looking at either the Hondata S300 (comes with SManager) or burn my own chips with Crome.
The S300 is pretty new. Does anyone have any experience with it? I have seen the S200 software (like the SManager), it looked sweet (simple, graphical, features).
I haven't ever seen the Crome in action so I really can't compare the two.
I would like to keep the car SCCA legal, so any modifications must be done inside the ECU. My car (98 ITR) is pretty stock right now and will be an all-motor build. Again, software...
Thanks,
Jake

Crome is great but datalogging is flakey compared to th s300. the s300 plugs in runs and works on the first try. If you do not need super reliable datalogging run Crome, I use it a lot and like it a lot, but for my race car I chose the s300 since i needed datalogging to work all the time.
Cool, thanks. I'll probably end up buying the ECU from them, too. I like how they covert the wiring harness on the ECU to the OBD2 setup, so you can plug it right up without a harness.
Thanks

i believe crom pro and the hardware needed should come out to slightly less in cost than the s300 setup. IF the latest version of Crome has solved the datalogging connection problems it would be a great choice. I have been watching the Crome forums to see about updates to datalogging myself for a while, since I have had the Crome Pro licesne for a long time and had many datalogging issues that are teh same as teh problems posted...

Thanks for the opinions, guys. I'm leaning toward the S300, but I'll watch the Crome forums, see if they can fix it before I'm ready to buy.
I bought my car a year ago, and it came with a chipped OBD1 the dude bought off eBay, and the car is not stock so it scares the **** out of me to not know what the tuning looks like
. Figured I might as well take this opportunity to get something I can tune myself
