could it be bad resistor box or ECU or both? need some feedback...
i recently hooked up a resistor box for my 450cc DSM injectors. it uses inline 10ohm resistor before. the resistor box has been running more than 2 weeks already without any problem.
today, i had a shop change all of my turbo pipings to stainless steel as well as putting in a spearco intercooler replacing my old fin and tube type intercooler.
after the pipings were done i drove home but i noticed that during a certain rpm from 2k-3k rpm the car would jerk while i'm still stepping on the gas pedal. it sort of hesitate for a second then drives normally again then the CEL would come on.
i thought my o2 sensor went bad which resulted in CEL lighting up and the hesitation is just a coincidence but it occurs again during the driver home. the car would hesitate then CEL instantly comes on.
when i arrived home, i quickly put a jumper to check the code but i only get SOLID CEL and doing a search here revealed that it might be a bad ECU.
why would my ECU go bad all of a sudden? if it were the resistor box why only now? i been using the ECU for more than a year already. i checked the ECU as well as the Atmel chip and J1 connection and it checked out fine. the car is scheduled to be tune tomorrow night and i'm afraid this problem might hinder it.
btw, last 2 nights i've been trying to hook up my data cable so that i could datalog. unfortunately, i couldn't make it work and i had to keep switching wires on CN2. i was only swapping wires in CN2 and no other place anymore on the ECU. could that be the reason for my ECU to go bad? or perhaps my frequent starts and turning ignition to ON?
any ideas?
