Code 17, VSS
My car is throwing code 17 and the speedo isn't working. Before I buy a new sensor, is there anything else I should check? Is there a way to check the if the speedo itself is broken. Could something else cause this? I just dropped a z6 into an si shell so I have no idea if either were previously working.
its probably bad cause if there is a prob with a plug it will just go into limp mode with no code...ie no vtec(dont ask how i know)duh
but if the sensor is bad it will throw a code
but if the sensor is bad it will throw a code

Well the cel isn't on all of the time if that makes a difference.

VSS cel code is intermittent, whic his lame
it could be that the VSS plug head (from the firewall out) is bad, check make sure the pins are clean on the VSS, maybe it got loose on the cluster side, i used a toothbrush to clean mine out but it was so corroded i just waited until i got a B-series and then all was good in the neighborhood..
