Default help with 5th gen rear speakers

Hi. Did search already. My rear speakers do not work at all. I have looked for a remote wire to turn on the amp but can't identify it so I took some pics to see if any one can.
This pic is the wiring harness for the head unit. There is a blue remote wire for the HU and but no remote wire on the main harness of the car.

Here is a pic of the main wire harness on the passenger's side of the trunk. There is only 1 all blue wire (has some silver bands on it but no stripe).

That blue wire plugs into the amp on the rear deck but it comes back out of the amp and plugs into the passenger's side speaker as well.

Thoughts? Can I tap into the blue wire in the rear harness or where is the remote wire for the amp?

do you have an aftermarket radio? If so, the remote wire is usually blue or blue w/white stripe. Be sure to hook that wire to the harness that you're connecting to your stock harness

simple: plug the rear speaker wires straight into the wire harness from the deck.

skip the oem harness mumbo jumbo. it's still going to the same place.

it would be on the aftermarket harness you bought. The lower arrow is pointing to the wire you need to hook the remote wire from the radio itself to. How many blue wires do you have on your aftermarket radio, well actually what brand is it?

there is one remote wire and it is hooked up to my sub amp. the remote wire for the head unit is hooked up to that wire. my delima is this: I don't see any remote wire anywhere to hook up the stock speaker amp. there is no loose wire anywhere and I don't know which wire to tap into in the wire harness of the car.

With certain aftermarket head units, you need to run a wire to the factory amp to make it turn on. It's weird, but my Clarion required a wire and my Eclipse didn't

Here's what you do to find the wire that you need to splice:
1) remove the factory amp (your last photo) by unclipping the harness and taking out the 2 screws/bolts that mount it to the sheetmetal
2)Take the metal cover off the amp (2 screws each side)
3)look closely at the circuit board, specifically the end with the white plug/terminal for the harness. All of the terminals are labeled. Find the one that says "AMP ON"
5)Find the wire on the harness that corresponds to the "AMP ON" tab. It will be on the bottom row. Splice into that wire. Run a piece of 18ga wire from your blue/white amp turn on lead at the head unit to the appropriate wire on the factory amp harness (the one that corresponds to the AMP ON).

Alternately, you can remove the circuit board, flip it upside down, and solder a wire to the tab that corresponds to the "AMPON" terminal. This is what I did but you have to be careful not to damage the board or desolder any other connections by accident. If I knew the color of the AMP ON wire from the getgo, it would have been easier but I'm comfortable with soldering so it was no big deal

With certain aftermarket head units, you need to run a wire to the factory amp to make it turn on - I think you figured that out already. You question is which wire to splice, right? Well you can find out just by popping the cover off the amp and reading the labels printed on the circuit board.

Here's what you do to find the wire that you need to splice:
1) remove the factory amp by unclipping the harness and taking out the 2 screws/bolts that mount it to the sheetmetal
Now splice into that wire. Run a piece of 18ga wire from your blue/white amp turn on lead at the head unit to that wire.
6)Turn on your head unit and rock out

thanks, HxClude, and everyone else. I'll do that and then post what wire it is.

yeah it would be great if you could post up the result for everyone else. I actually took out the circuit board and soldered the remote wire to the solder tab on the bottom of the board that corresponded to the AMP ON - its riskier and tougher to do. Otherwise I would have run out to my car and checked the wire harness for you

I always gotta do things the hard way

So I took the amp apart and had to soder in a wire for the amp turn on. there is no wire that corresponds to that in the plug. I wired the turn on wire to my head unit and still nothing happens. There is power coming from the head unit remote wire but still no sound from the rear speakers. does it need a new ground too? here the skematic of the amp and wiring: http://img213.imageshack.us/my...m.jpg
the amp turn on would be b14 and b13 is labled "ground" but there is nothing there either. there are no mics on the speakers from what I can tell. I bought the car used and the person did have aftermarket speakers in there for a while. I don't remeber if the rear speakers ever worked.

Ok, so I guess I didn't do too much extra work by soldering directly to the board. Do you have a second black box under your rear deck? Its smaller than the amp and it should have a "TDK" label on it. Maybe an element of the acoustic feedback system is disabled and the speakers won't work without it.

If it helps, I just removed my speakers, amp, and AFB box to install 6x9 subs. If you need or want that stuff if you have missing or defective parts, you can have it all for the cost of shipping + a box to pack it in. Let me know.
