Default spring size

This may be weird and somewhat unconvitential but here's what I'm thinking. It's past time to get rid of the Vogtland off-the-shelf kit. I want to use differnet spring rates but I'd like to try to save money by not going coilover just yet. My question is does anyone know what the stock inside diamater for the front and rear springs on a 91 civic is?

If my memory serves correct, My '89 Civic Si's stock springs tapered from 3 1/2" to 2 1/2" (not sure if OD or ID), and were about 545 lbs for the front. Rear did not taper though...Both were something like 10" long......Your '91 should be about the same....I'm sure "Tyson" knows......Good Luck

545lbs on the front stock? So it sounds like 400lbs would be too soft then?

yeah, it's either 545# or 575# I can't remember offhand and I'm still looking for the piece of paper that has that info on it.....400# may be a bit soft, but it all depends on the rest of your setup and application.

Dude,

So sorry man but I just found out that I have given you some BOGUS info......I thought that the "stock" spring rates for my '89 Civic Si hatch were #575 front and #540 rear....THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!!!!! Sorry again, but my #'s are way too high (like me) and POSSIBLY were listed in kg's not lbs........Don't quote me though..........Sorry again....FYI.........I started with 450# front 650# rear on Koni double adjustables and will be going higher soon (with the spring rate that is).........Good Luck

no problem. That did sound kind of high. I haven't done anything with it yet.

I'm still trying to decide wether to get some springs alone, go with something like GC's on my shocks, or with these http://picperformance.com/stor...t=192
