need opinions..
I don't have any pics sorry..
A few months ago, I was going to take off my side moldings..
On the passenger's side, I found nice smooth normal metal (the non clip moldings would go on)
On the Driver's side, I found a mess where someone had used silicone before to put the moldings back on, and underneath that mess were spots for clip moldings...
What would be the best thing to do? I don't want to have to get a whole new front fender/door/rear fender just to fix that...
Should I just weld some small pieces of metal in the clip side, and smooth it out, or fill the whole molding areas?
thanks..

any other thoughts?
that would be an easy fix.. IF I had spots for clips on both sides.. which I don't... one side is smooth, the other is made for clip moldings..
