rack rebuilding concerns
ok well ive finally straightened out my motor to run good with no blown up stuff on it.
ANYWAYS, my car handles like shiet now tho with the car having over 200k on it, and i have all day on wednesdays to fiddle around with my car, so i was wondering what parts should i get to rebuild my steering rack/ to make sure im not stuck with some random part that might break in the process of me taking it off of there. i know of the REB and the pinion bearing, anything else? bushings etc?
(91 civic si/ manual rack)
thx

you should be able to figure out ahead of time what tie rod balljoints you need to replace. it just takes a bit of shaking of the steering wheel and holding the wheel and feeling around.
yeah, its a good idea to get another set of lock washers. you might end up destroying the old ones trying to get em out.
btw, i really recommend taking the steering rack out completely first, then trying to work the inner tie rods. its much more difficult with them on the car, although possible.
