Default 99 em1 battery wont recharge ?

having an issue with my sisters car it has no power . when i jump start the car it runs perfect but the moment i tunr it off it has no power again . i dont know if the alternator is just not charging the battery or the battery is just no good anymore. its less thena year old and its a yellow top optima . i see some of you have had soem problems of them dying. i just recently fixed a problem with the alternator being loose . any other ideas i checked all the fuses and under the hood and inside maybe a relay or something .

take it out or drive the car to autozone, and they can test both batt and alt for free.

put a meter to the battery terminals and watch the readings. if the battery falls under 12.5 as soon as the car is turned off, then you need to charge and test the battery. take the battery out of the car and put it on a charger. then test it again. i had a yellow top go bad on my in 10 months...pissed me off.

does it die when you take the jumper cables off? try checking the alternator fuse before buying a new alternator. i had a similar problem on my old car and all it was was the fuse not the alternator itself.

I think it might be more...less than a year is a short cry for a battery :-\ -- Even if it replaces and works fine, I would keep an eye on it..
