Default Bass speaker system accessory question for the 2006 EX Civic

I haven't had a chance to ask my dealer but i was wondering if anyone knew if the bass speaker system came standard with the EX model since it comes equipped with a 350 watt stereo and subwoofer? Or can i get the bass speaker system in addition to that?

the 350watt sound system comes with an 8" sub. It does come standard. Its a really good sound system and packs a nice punch for an 8"

so is the general consensus that the system on the EX Civic is pretty good? I mean i'm not expecting BOSE quality... but to those who have it or have experienced it, is it noticeable?

It pales in comparison to an aftermarket sub/amp, but it's pretty okay for factory equipment. I will say that it's noticeable, but hardly worth the extra price when better aftermarkat equipment can be purchased for the same amount or little more... :shrugs:

Since when is BOSE considered good? If your car already comes with an upgraded system thats one thing but i would never pay extra for a factory sound system unless of course its the mark levinson system in the lexus or even the volvo's that have a dynaudio system.

I have to agree with the two people posting above. Factory premium sound is pretty decent. My girlfriend's 01 EX has some nice bass and highs for what it is. This may be fine for 80% of the people out there. It's fine for your parents, you gramma, and your sister, especially if they're just going to lease the car for a couple years.

For anyone that's ever heard a good clean system, it wont satisfy you if it's your daily driver. You can get cleaner sound from quality aftermarket equipment but you're going to spend some cash. You need at least a decent deck (Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse, high end Sony or Panasonic etc), front components, and a decent amplified sub. This is going to be far superior in sound quality, but anything less wouldn't compete with the factory premium sound.

We charge $60 labor + speaker wire to bypass factory amps. It sounds shitty as causes problems on nearly every install we do where the customer insists that we leave the factory amp alone. On some systems, the speakers are not compatible with aftermarket decks or vice versa. Premium sound ie Bose is a pain in the *** for people like us that have a higher standard for sound quality. If I were looking to buy a car, premium sound ie Bose or anything with a factory amp would actually lower the value of the car to me.

You mean bypassing the amp that's attached to each speaker is a pain? You mean replacing the speakers when you do a deck because the Bose speakers are 1ohm is a pain?? Nahhhh....

^ What he said. Bose has to be the biggest pain in the *** EVER. The saying around here - "No highs, no lose, it must be bose!"

Well I'm sure you're aware that not all bose amps are attached to the speakers

I got to disagree with you on this. My parents just got the new volvo c70. With the bose factory sound up grade. This thing sound so bitchen That I don't think i'll need to modd it. Plus the surround sound it comes with is incrediable. I can't wait till I tap the dvd player into it. The bass responce is so freaken great.

Are you sure its bose? Volvo lists the upgraded sound system as being dynaudio. I'm not sure if the factory system is bose though.
