Default I though this was cool. *video*

This autox video was from 6-18-06 at atwater castle air force. I though it looked kind of cool, so enjoy. No, i wasn't trying to drift. The car just have alot of oversteer.

Yikes!

Is that you? Why did your back end come out like that? I've never seen a front wheel drive car oversteer like that without the driver doing it intentionally or trailbraking.

What did you do to send it into a slide?

That's probably why. Do many people do this in autocross? I thought it was generally used for longer, higher speed turns?

Maybe you just stabbed the brake pedal a little too much and locked the rears up just enough to break traction.

Pretty smooth drift though

That looks like a long course. Ours are usually well under a minute

He did - hence why he nearly spun. Been there, done that. I used to think my car was biased to oversteer but found out the real problem was between the seat and the steering wheel.

Hmmm... interesting. Maybe it's not the car that biased oversteer but maybe driver. Never really though of that. I'll post my suspension set-up when i get home.

I should install a in-car camera and host it up. I really want to see some comment on my driving skill from you guys that actually roadrace.

what kind of camber are you running front and rear. what toe settings?
what tire pressures and what kind of pads are you running front and rear.

With that front bar I'm surprised your car came out, but it also sounds like you lifted/ braked into the turn. That will upset any car.

Degree for the camber and toe??? I don't know. Big O tire did my alignment so i don't know. I really should scan it and post it.

As for brake pad. I'm using Hawk HPS in the front and Axis ultimate metal master in the rear.

unless you have some funky alignment settings, like major rear toe out. then its the nut behind the wheel.

remeber this, all braking should be done in a stright line, turn in, and gas it. seems like a simple concept but trust me it doe become easy to forget. (this is of course unless you are Left foot braking or trial braking.)

fyi, your car should be running in EP at the least, more likely EM or DM (those classes are based on engine displacement and i can't remember which is 2.0l and under). for th list of things that are illegal....

first, you've got a SOHC vtec-e motor in the car. all the SOHC VTEC eg's go to DSP.

the quaife rack is not legal for SP, the camber kits are not legal for SP, the toe kit probably isn't even legal for Prepared, it's definitely not legal for street prepared. all of those tie bars and braces are not legal for SP, most aren't even legal for P. the 11" fastbrakes aren't legal for SP either, as well as the teg mc and the mc brace. and street prepared does not let you remove any of the interior bits from your car.

has anybody told you that 90% of the crap on your car is making it slower, not faster? you might also want to buy a rulebook so you can figure out what class you are in with all those useless mods. for now, you should be running in EP at the very least. i guess SM might be viable too. all those stupid braces make me unsure though.
