Default B18A

How much boost can this motor handle stock? Say using a 57 trim turbo?

What can you rev out to safely without jeopardizing the bottom end?

You should post this in the forced induction forum. You'll get a lot better response there and more educated answers. With good tuning I've seen people run as much as 15 psi on the stock bottom end. As far as the revving, you shouldn't take it much farther than the 6500 rpm redline otherwise you risk stretching a rod bolt and spinning a bearing or even floating a valve in the top end.

With a proper bottom end (good rings/pistons/rods/bearings) with proper fuel management (most turbo setups lean out and blow up, even on low boost) you can hit 10-15PSI with a good setup.

Don't worry about revving the hell. Use the stock red line/cut off. I'd be more worried about boosting the head off the block, 15 year old head bolts are always weak. I'd get a new metal head gasket and some ARP head studs.

thats interesting.... just gives me an idea on how much ill be able to run with a setup

again.... any kind of forced induction is all about tuning. you can run 10-15 pounds on a completely stock block, and with a nice tune it could turn it ok. but tuning can get expensive

hahahaha

Trans Am

Pusstang. hahaha Not anymore they aren't. They are quite the car these days... even the GTs. Not saying they are insanely fast but they are getting the idea. 03-04 Cobras are no joke man and you can't tell me otherwise. Not saying you can't beat them, and by the signature... you probably crush stock and slightly modified ones. But once they go KB or Whipple... they are a handful. I sure hope your car traps in the 130s!

That's all well and good but you shouldn't be posting on this forum if you respect V8's. That's like passing out VTEC stickers at a mustang expo dude.

hahahahaha... I actually saw a "VTEC" badge on a 95 Mustang GT once. haha It was purple! Wide tires on the car too...? I wasn't in the Trans Am so I don't know how fast it was.

So cuz I like V8s I can't post here? That's a joke right?

Chris

Oh yea... on 10lbs of boost in a CRX (B18A motor). Do you think I'll be able to hit anywhere between 106-109 trap speeds?
