Default Went to Import Builders a month ago

I talked with Jeff about modding my type r, (really nice guy), he told me that getting skunk2 cams, skunk2 gears, custom ported JG Edlebrock Headers, and a high flow cat would help me run high 13's on slicks if im correct. Anybody have this similar setup, what 1/4 mile times do you guys hit, how do you like the setup.

Thanx

You mean high 12's, right? That sounds like too many mods to hit high 13's... epecially with slicks. Some good drivers are able to get stock ITR into low 14's with only some minor mods (I/H/E, gutted interior).

i forgot to mention that he said the track in palmdale, CA. The elevation on that track is horrible.

I think with some tuning you could hit mid 13's on slicks with that setup..usually it takes some decent whp to hit 12's..like 210+

I have skunk stage 1 cams and I run mid 13's on slicks @ 100 mph with the stock clutch. I ran high 13's @ 98 mph with R cams. In other words, you can run high 13's with slicks & I,H,E.

with type r pistons I got over 190 to the wheels. Glad to see there are more people receptive to Skunk now.

13.6 on a fully body gsr. what the hell is that supposed to mean? We all have bodies on our cars. fyi the stage 1 cams from skunk have the same lift maybe a little moreas a type r but have more duration. more compression with a less aggressive cam can yield the same results as lower compression car with beefier cams.

the reason i ask , cause pamdale( and he was refering running 13 at that track )
is a sorry track and also is high in altitude not sea level .so the times there would be slower then compare to a sea level track , like for example pomona or i think bakersfield ( i think ) running 14.0-14.2 at pamdale would be 13's .but he wants to run 13's which if he hits high 13's would be consider low or mids .
heres another example ericks racing fastes time at pamdale is 11.0 flat and 11.1
where in another track would be 10's . hope that i explain my self

I see. I believe both MIR and Capitol are sea level or damn close. Capitol looks like its downhill though.
