Default What parts needed for rear disk brake conversion on 96 LX Accord?

Someone is willing to give me any parts from their 95 EX Accord so I can convert to disk. WHat should I ask him for? Hub assembly, lines, rotor, calipers? Do I need any suspension parts? Thanks

Just get your hands on an entire trailing arm assembly off of an EX or a CL.

That should include hub, rotor, caliper+bracket.

khunt0012, the trailing arm goes from the hub towards the front of the car right? And is it connected internally to the hub assembly or just infront of it? Are the suspension arms identical on the LX and EX (I think there are 4).

If I get the hub, rotor, calipers and lines, e-brake cable, and the part that the 4 suspension arms and shock connects to (right behind the dust shield), would that be enough to completely convert?

this is a picture of what you need from one of the links you can find in the FAQ page up top.

You could also get the master cylinder and proportioning valve from the EX.

I'm kind of curious wether that's even necessary. I could have sworn any Accord prop valve and MC would work as long as the car and parts coincided with ABS or non-ABS.

it'll work just fine with the stock parts like you said, thats why I said he "could also" use those parts if he wishes. I just remember someone saying that the MC is bigger on the EX and Wagons and that the proportioning valve was different from rear drum to rear disc, I just can't think of what was different about it.

Ah ok. I know that when I did my swap I was a super poor high school student and just wanted the swap done so I didn't do anything like a MC or a prop valve, but now that I think about it that may be a good idea for when I clean up the engine bay.

Just an FYI for anybody wanting to do this, your stock MC and prop valve will work just fine if that's all you plan on doing.

MC and prop valve are not REQUIRED. You can do it, but things will work just fine if you leave your prop valve and MC.

and like khunt0012 said, you don't NEED the master cyclinder and proportioning valve, you can use whats already on you car. But if you get it for a good price you might as well, it's totally up to you.
