Default Question about oil drainage...

I recently changed my oil in my S w/ mobile 1 10w30. I accendentally put 6 quarts in the car, when it only takes 5.1 quarts. I know I can jack the car up, take out the drain plug, drain some out, etc, but was wondering if there was an easier way to take about 1/2 qt of oil out.

I have an AEM intake, so I have easy access to my oil filter just by opening the hood. So heres what I'm thinking...open the hood, loosen the oil filter, and empty it of oil. Then run the car again for a bit, let it cool down, and repeat the process. Is it safe to loosen the oil filter and then put it back on? Will it start to leak?

I don't have access to my jack for a few days so I wanted to try this...does anyone have any opinions on whether this would work, or should I not try it?

thanks!

S2KJ55, I just recently moved to the area, I'm not lazy, I just don't know anyone with tools. If you think this thread is a "pos" thread, then don't comment!

You can access the drain plug, if you're creative. Drive up on some 2x10's, your OEM jack, etc.
