Brake & Tranny Fluid *urgent*
hey everyone, first time for posting but long time reader...
my '95 Civic EX has approx. 95k miles on it...
i'm putting Brembo rotors and AEM pads on it (this setup worked wonderfully on my '98 civic) and i'm getting the brake fluid drained and refilled with new fluid...except i don't know what fluid to use?...i need to buy some fluid i can get readily at the store (not Redline or anything)...
any suggestions?...synthetic or regular, i guess it doesn't matter...what kind do you guys use on your car?...and how much exactly do i need?...1 quart???...
i have the same questions about tranny fluid too...i will be changing it out for new fluid, preferably synthetic...any suggestions?...is it 3 quarts i need?
would i be better off using OEM honda fluids???...
thanks guys~

What I don't get....you have a 98 Civic that your running this setup on, you say it works 'wonderfully'....so umm...what kinda brake fluid are you using for this 'wonderful' setup that you would want to change from?
Seems you have something proven, why change it.....unless the setup is not so 'wonderful' as you claim.
Just stick with OEM fluids.
i meant my '98 Civic had the rotors and pads that i liked so much...it was a low mileage car so i never swapped any fluids for it before i sold it...
my '95 Civic now is so old and would be better off changing the fluids but i have no idea how to go about it...
the reason i ask about synthetics is because i wonder if it'll aid in the brake setup...but more importantly, i'm wondering if synthetics in the tranny would help solve any of my synchro grinding problems...

for brake fluid, try valvoline synth power brake fluid. comes in a gold color container. very good stuff for off the shelf.
for tranny, I use redline mtl and like it because it's a full synthetic. honda mtf is good too, but it's not a full synthetic. redline should help to lessen the grind, but then so will honda mtf. I think you just need to change the fluid with something fresh. go with which you can get easily. hth

Brake fluid--get ATE Super blue! It's awesome and cheap, do NOT get Honda brake fluid, that DOT3 crap sucks.
Tranny fluid--Honda MTF is really good. I also recommend BG Synchroshift.
