Default Spark Plug wires keep poppin out....

Everytime I punch it, my spark plug wire seems to always shoot out off the distributor....usually only one of them, but the other day two of them came off on the freeway and my car's acceleration started to fluctuate as I make my way off the exit which was at least 1/2 a mile so I didn't stop as soon as this occurred-- which might have assisted in the smoking. I pulled off and popped my hood and noticed my engine was putting out smoke from somewhere behind/ or under my intake manifold for a very long time after I shut the car off already.---What can this be? And could this mess anything up?
Tia.

seems to me, they wouldn't be popping out unless there was pressure escaping from around the plug seat. Make sure they are all torqued down properly and everything.

Actually... it sounds as if he said they are popping off the Dist....

Are you using stock wires? I had Magnacores and they did this too... if you want to stop it, do what the first guy said... secure them with good ol' zip ties...

Find some needle-nose pliers and slightly spread apart the terminal inside the plugwire. That should hold them in place........if that's the problem you're having.

Did the smoke have any kind of particular smell to it? If it was a somewhat sweet smell, it's coolant.

Yeah, my wires are Magnecores also--I guess they are known to do that. How would I zip tie them?--They pop out my distributor. Also, ever since that incident, my car keeps putting out this weird smell like a weird unique burning smell--not like coolant at all. Anybody knows?

if the smell is coming from the rear of the engine under the I/M then maybe your PCV valve needs replacing, and the smell is of exhaust fumes blowing back to free air instead of back into the manifold which is what the PCV valve is for.
