I had my auto tensioner fail the other day, I fixed it up and put the belt on (not 100% sure if its aligned right) but when driving I get nowhere near the acceleration as I used to when pressing down on the pedal, and mileage has decreased significantly ...

What are some of the symptoms/draw backs of bent valves that a peson would notice when driving the vehicle?

 

Hesitation, poor performance, low idle, idle drops too low when you let out the clutch and the car dies, low compression numbers (if you test it), etc...

 

you probsbly have timing off a tooth. not enough to bend valves, just enough to have what you are describing.

 

Exactly as stated, hesitation, poor idle, horrible response, you might even hear a valve tick. Chances are your probaly not runing on all cylinders.

 

hmm.. suprisingly my car idles pretty good ... low and rough since I didnt put back the balancer belt but I've noticed my exhaust note is louder..
