Default My HID's went out! help please

I have a HID kit hooked up to my car and the right bulb all of a sudden went out, the headlight worked perfectly fine when i first installed it and has been working fine for a few months now. I looked at the fuse and it was out, so i replaced it however everytime i tried to turn on the headlights it would burn out the fuse, does anyone know what the problem is? (wiring, placement, bulb etc...) Thanks

I disconnected and reconnected all the wiring to the headlight and the fuse kept burning out. I'm thinking the intensity of the HID light is causing the fuse to blow out, but how did it work fine before?

i'm not out of the woods yet i still have to find out if it really is a short in the wiring that's doing that, hopefully it's not the HID kit itself or the bulb

Sounds like a short to ground somewhere, so check the grounds in that circuit. I don't know exactly how a ballast works, so no help there. sorry

I've read of some people replacing the oem fuse with a higher rated one.

Might be a cheap alternative to try before you get a new ballast

it has to be a short to ground, i don't think there would be a need to replace the oem fuse with a higher rated one, because of the fact that its powered through relays, and the hid system itself will require less power to run than halogen bulbs.

We also disconnected the headlight and tried to put a fuse in, when we tried this the fuse instantly blew out. So i'm narrowing it down to short to ground or maybe a short in the wiring from switch to headlight. I'm gona go get my car back today so hopefully i'll find out what exactly is going on. If you have any other suggestions please keep them coming, and thanks to all those who put in thier 2 cents about this

just got my car back, turns out it was the ballast, now the problem is getting a new one, is there a specific type of ballast i need? i took the shorted out ballast back home and on the front it says KU ballast i'm guessing its the company it also has voltage, output, and temp readings. I'm not too familiar with this electrical stuff so itd be great if someone can tell me what kind of ballast i need. Thanks oh and good guess 25type-s looks like im in the same boat as you haha
