Default Good racing lugs ( open ) recommendations ? ( BB6 prelude )

i will need a set of lugs ..preferably racing type..open..black
or something like that though i don't really care until it's not red or blue

i don't care about weight ( i don't wanna pay 100$ cause it's in magnesium or whatever special metal )

need thoose cause my stock ones are getting torned completly by the weight of the car beeing trhown side to side in solo 2

so i need to know where to get ..and how much
and i want some of good quality ( don't wanna **** up my studs again..i have to change 4 of them in front and it's a PITA to change )

thank you

I have never had issues with the stock lugnuts. You can always just get open-ended if that is what you want. I have a pimpy set of tuner lugnuts that use a 12MM hex wrench to get them off. I did this primarily to make them a little harder to get off thus a little less desirable to steal.

I've been autocrossing for 4 years and never had a problem with lugnuts or studs. Why?

I always torque my lugs properly
I always make sure they have a spot of grease on the lug
I always hand thread the lugnut on the stud to ensure i dont cross thread it or chew up the threads
I always break the lugs loose before i put it on jack stands

Replaing the lugs/studs isnt a bad idea, but i've never seen or heard of one fail at an autoX. If the threds are all chewed to chit, replace 'em, the local auto parts store should have some for you. Its probably a good idea to replace them once a year or so if you are doing track events (where i have heard of them failing)

Years ago we used to break them pretty regularly on our Camaro but that was back before we decided to start using a torque wrench. Once we started using it they stopped breaking. Periodically we have to replace the lugnuts but that isn't a function of autocrossing so much as it is a function of the constant on and off of the nuts.

This is my 11th season of autocrossing and in that time I have broken 5 lugs. All 5 were broken as a result of over-torque using a t-handle.

I've never had a problem with the stock pieces, as I always hand torque them, but I had to get longer studs for reasons I've explained too many times to repeat.
My friend bought me a set of Skunk 2 studs. They're 3" long I think. With all of the threads of a Kuyokugen lug (I have not idea how it's spelled) sunk over them, that makes for great piece of mind in the turns. That's about it. The Kuyokugen socket is crap though, it gets ruined when an air wrench over torques it.
