Default question(s)

First question, what tranny fluid do you run in your car? should i run synchromesh, or do you think i can be safe with some lucas stabilizer and some 90w?

second is, i changed my tranny fluid with that lucas no grind stuff, and some 90w, and then it started grinding, so im thinkin about draining it if you guys say synchromesh is the best for it, and the 90w is bad, because my gears are grinding in 1,3,5 and i tried to do a quick launch today from a stop light, and it slipped real bad, do you think the wrong tranny fluid would make it slip, or is the clutch shot you think?

Thanks in advance for your input

Either use 10w 30, or Pennzoil synchomesh or honda mtf

i use pennzoil syncromesh .

your clutch is probably shot and the syncros are all bad..using syncromesh will aid it abit and maybe even get rid of the grinds but its only temporary fix

there was a study on bob is the oil guy site that tested the lucas trans fluid stabilizer. it foamed up like crazy instead of staying viscous. i would drain that and either put honda MTF or GM synchromesh (i think its called Penzoil synchromesh too). do you have a short shifter? there was a post archived about short shifters and grinding and shifting fast, etc.

ok, im gonna drain it and put the synchromesh in it, and yes i have a short throw shifer, but like i said nothing was wrong shifted smooth, and no grindage or anything until i changed the fluid, so i dont think thats the reason

Concidering w90 is three times too thick for the basic of all fluid recommended by honda, that could be your problem...

If you would of spent like...10 minutes researching the forum, you would of learned that 10w30 is recommend in the tranny. Honda MTF is what most people put in, but alot use GM synchromesh because it works wonders in honda trannies.
