O-rings Melted...
Ok, my water pump went, so I had to drive my car to my uncles to get it replaced. On the way it was making lots of rattling sounds and there was coolant leaking everywhere and my engine was getting pretty hot, but I had the heater blasted and the temp guage didn't go much past the halfway point. I got the car back today, and everythigns all good but when I took out the spark plug cables they were pretty hot and I noticed that some of them melted in places and my o-rings were melted aswell..
Question though.. I recently painted my VC gold, but I forgot to remove the o-rings when I sprayed it with paint remover. Is it the paint remover that messed up my o-rings or was it just because of the water pump deal? I'm scared, I have no cash at all until thursday so I can't buy new o-rings until then, would it be safe to use the car in the meantime?

Are we talking the little O-Rings that seal the spark plug tubes from the valve cover? As long as you have a some sort of seal there very little to no oil should escape. But just replace it when you have a chance.
