I was wondering if I should get a ls and if it would be cheaper then a B16 and in the long run which one would be better but Im sticking with cable tranny
Im about to search all my questions just want opinons in which would be better for the money only have 3000 and I heard ls's are cheap at junk yards

the ls is a cheaper swap than the b16.
yes you can find ls's cheap at junkyards, but keep in mind i wouldnt take a ls longblock from a junkyard and just throw it into my engine bay and call it a day. more than likely the condition of the motor is ****, so your looking at some internal parts cost for rebuilding it.
you can do either swap for $3k, even with a shops labor you can probably do it for $3k.
but as far as which one would run better for the long run.... most people are going to say the b16 will cuz of its VTEC capabilities.
for me, id choose the ls, get a b16/gsr cable tranny with a clutch kit, if you have enough money, get some parts for a better valve train.

LS motors love turbo. stock ls should handle atleast 8 psi, but it all depends. if you go turbo make sure you have enough fuel and spark, get it tuned.
alright thanks and how much harder is it to drop in a ls into a 89 crx? is there any welding involved or anything or is it just like putting a B16 in there

You'll need B Series to Ef Mounts, Shift linkage and all the rest of the goodies

doesnt really matter, the earlier 90-91 b18a's just dont have the aggressive cam as the 92-95's ones do, which is why they lack that 10 hp.
but... 90-91 are obd0, while 92-95 ls's require obd1, so you can stay obd0 if you wanted or just upgrade to obd1
and yes you already said yourself. seeeaaaarrrccchhhhhh :D
