Default Accord 4 lug OEM alloy wheels. Pls identify and describe.

I checked the archives, but these OEM alloy wheels were not pictured nor described. How many of these 4 lug wheels did Honda make for the Accord?
The lug circle is 114.3mm in diameter.

I do not know the order, but let me start.

a) "bottle cap" 15x5.5, '90 and '91?
b) "7 flat fingers" 15x5.5, '92? and "93?
c) "16 fingers" ? x ?, mid '80? to '89?

Pictures would really be nice.

Thanks.

The information in that site is good, but is a work in progress. It appears that a couple of the wheels are not listed in fatboyraceworks site. And the Acura wheels have not been pictured. I wish I could help him. I've seen the wheels around town, but have no clue to cataloging them. If I could snap a photo, I will.

The early alloy wheel for the Accord came with the 3rd generation.

The "bottlecap" style came with the 4th gen, first with the EX in '90.

The 7 flat spoke wheel came with the 5th gen. The center cover looks like the previous cover of the 4th gen Accord wheel, covering the nuts.

The 5 spoke wheel came with later 5th gen. May have been the last of the 4 lug wheels.

Prelude wheels are pictured on the site. It appears there were a few versions in 4 lug patterns.

If you have any Accord, Prelude, or Acura 4-lug alloy wheel pictures, please post them. Thanks.

You might try looking at the Edmunds website for photos of the wheels you're looking for. If you click on "used car reviews", you can find the year and model you're looking for. Then click on photos and see if you can find a photo that shows the wheels you're looking for...

I thought that was a good idea. A good suggestion. Edmunds, though, seems to have newer car listings. It's funny how we think about something, only then we notice more of these things around us. I've been seeing Honda OEM wheels that I never noticed before.

There's a magazine being sold on the stands right now, titled, "2006 Ultimate Wheel & Tire Buyer's Guide". Doesn't cover the OEM wheels. But there's a size chart (not complete) with information for wheel and tire.

In the used car section of their website, they have detailed car information - photos, specs, etc - for models going back to the 1990 model year, although certain features (e.g. photos) may not be available until 1992. For example...

1992 Honda Accord 4 Dr EX Sedan:

1992 Honda Accord 4 Dr LX Sedan:

1993 Honda Accord 4 Dr SE Sedan:

Sorry if that doesn't go back as far as you need it...

You can also look up wheels on Transwheel's website. Transwheel sells refinished OEM wheels, and also repairs wheels. Not all are available, but you can use their website to look up the wheels. The images are not easily linked from other websites, though. To look up a wheel, go to http://www.transwheel.com and click on "online retail catalog" where it says "Please browse the online retail catalog to view wheel styles available." You can then specify type, year, make, model, etc and it will show you the various styles.

I think you'll find what you're looking for if you spend a little time checking out their website...

You're right! Awesome site.

Spent some time looking at the available wheels, and found a few interesting, as in "I want it.", wheels.

nsxtasy,

Thanks for pointing out those sites. With this information as reference, I now am planning to swap to 5-lug hubs/rotors, then using Honda OEM 5-lug alloy wheels in 16" diameter and 6" or more width. This is for the '90 Accord EX. Is 205/55x16 the right size tire? Would 215/50x16 also work?

205/55-16 is too big (2.8 percent larger diameter than the stock 195/60-15). 205/50-16 is the best size to use (0.6 percent smaller than stock). I wouldn't use 215/50-16; it's not that far off (1.0 percent larger) but the larger diameter and wider tread create some risk of rubbing, and besides, it's an "oddball" size with not very many tires to choose from.
