Default Vtec not registering on vtec controller, help.

Well the 99 vtec head that is on my d16a6 was kicking in yesterday, now since i timed it and put in the PG7 teg ecu, the vtec isnt showing up on my vtec controller. Where it let me adjust the rpm's when it kicks in, there is just stars, same on the percent adjust, just stars, its like it isnt recognizing it, but its hooked up from the selinoid. Am i doing something wrong? do i need to reset something since the battery was unhooked and the ecu put in? I dont know, im stupid when it comes to honda's, dont laugh im learning.

well i dont think the engine light being on will effect the vtec kickin in, the vtec was working before and the engine light was on. Its just the o2 sensor and it only comes on after driving for like 10-15 minutes. When i first start driving its not on.

that has nothing to do with it guys...he has vtec hooked up through an external switch (vtec controller) So it doesnt matter if hes got codes or not cause that ecu doesnt care or know what vtec is.....Plain and simple the vtec controller is hooked up wrong or broken....Also when you installed the vtec controller did you use a 30 amp 5 way automotive relay?? if not you could have blew out the vtec solenoid...also just so you know this is not and never was real vtec,,real vtec is not just clicking on a solenoid,,,it also involves adding fuel and timing when vtec kicks (controlled by the ecu) just so you know
