Default flywheel bolts

on a d16a6 how many flywheel bolts are there? its a motor swap in my crx and ordereing new flywheel is it 6 or 8?

And lets not forget, the bolts for an automatic flex plate or whatever they are called are different from the bolts needed for a manual flywheel.

That's true, they're shorter.

appreciate it, i jsut ordered an 8.5lb flywheel and stage 3 6puck clutch kit, how much will that pick up in my times? i have also ordered an aluminum underdrive pulley about 1.5 lbs.

The lighter flywheel may actually slow down a 1/4 time due to all that jazz about rotating inertia and such. I think it was Mista_bone who tested the difference between an 8# and 12.5# flywheel in the quarter. Now cancel the silly aluminum underdrive pulley though if you want your motor to last. A motor of mine went toast, i.e. a good 80% of the bearings failed at once and the previous owner had a shiny "blue" pulley on there.

i don't see the reson for a undrive puley for civic all they do is pul the alt. well if you have ac or ps too but your rcing so i doubt it.

ok so drop the underdrive, all im running is alt. off of the crank now.

make sure you torque the bolts to spec, don't want a flywheel coming through the top of the car at 6000rpms.

the flywheel is 8.5lbs its a kit from gripforce in CA, whats the torque specs on the flywheel and pressure plate?? anyone know?
