Integra Halogen Projectors- Problem with light out put with HID's
Installed some OEM G35 HID's on my 96 Integra today and just now got around to testing them at night and the light out put is horrable. We think its because the headlights need to be adjusted and that because the bulb is not really all the way in the headlight itself. Kinda hard to explain how the bulb is sitting without pictures. It was just a temperary thing till we could figure out a better way but he can't drive at all at night.
So ppl that put in OEM HID's on a Integra, how did yall get the bulb in all the way? Or atleast to stay in there.

You need to rebase the headlight bulb itself with a 9006 lock ring. That will allow the bulb to lock in the housing. The spot that you glue the ring onto the bulb will determine how far in or out the actual bulb is within the projector.
But thing that the bulbs sits into is like too big to fit into the headlight, it wouldnt even be able to lock in even with a 9006 lock ring.
2 of my buddy's just got 9006 hid kits installed their integras and they look oem hids without switchin the projector...
factory d2s bulbs are not going to fit, you would either have to rebase it but cutting down the plastic to be able to fit a 9006 ring on. You can also buy the 9006 rebased bulbs on ebay. If you want those d2s bulbs to fit without mod, you're gonna need to retrofit in a d2s projector.

Alright thanks that's the answer we're looking for
They're are D2R's btw tho. I'm sure it doesnt matter anyways.

I dont understand how that became the solution. The opening is the same size for either headlight type. 9005 are no bigger than 9006 in regards to the size and shape of the body.

This is a d4s bulb....I've done the same on a d2r as well. The only thing I can see as to why you put it in the high beam housing would be because of the bulb type. D2R bulbs belong in headlights with Reflective lenses/housings while D2S are more commonly found in projector style housings.

does the d2s bulb fit directly into a 9006 projecter housing?? or vise versa/....will my 9006 hids fit into d2s projector for my retrro fit? or will i have to buy d2s bulbs. thanks

No, I think we already establish 9006 bulb fits 9006 housing, d2s bulbs fits d2s projector housing. Anything else would require modification.

Exactly...
Regardless of type (d2s/d2r) HID bulbs need to be retrofitted to fit into standard OEM non-HID headlight housings. The OEM HID headlight housings are made to fit their specific type bulb.
