Default Questions on SCCA Solo Street Touring STS category

Hey guys i have a 93 civic hatch ( DX ) that i am looking to convert into a little autocross car / Daily Driver in the winter-
my questions are -
Would putting a d16z6 cylinder head onto my d15 block be illegal? (mini me)
In addition to the mini me id swap in a ex/si tranny how would that be?
Would removing my power steering and making it a manual rack make it illegal?
For suspension i would be running Tokico Illumina's along with H&R sport springs
Any way this would be competitive or is this class going to be hard to do good in?

Not legal for STS. Bumps you straight to SM.

Also not legal for STS, and also bumps you to SM (not legal for SP since '92-95 Civic SOHC VTEC and '92-95 Civic NOC are listed on different lines in the rulebook).

'93 DX hatch didn't come with power steering unless it was an automatic . . .

You may be competitive on your regional level (depends on what competition there is for you locally), but on a national level it won't do well at all.

However, the '92-95 DX hatch makes an excellent FSP car when built and driven right . . .

Thanks a ton for the help
The car actualy was automatic converted over- Can i convert it tho to manual steering?
Also what would you recomend a good suspension setup would be for the stock class? it says 2 way adjustable shocks- what is a good example of a 2 way adjustable shock?

Dont do a damn thing to the car besides some wheels/tires. Just learn to drive and look around. You'll figure out what you want to do then. You'll see what everyone else has, what does well, etc. No matter what though, the driver is the most important thing in autox, any autox guy will tell you that.
