LS/Vtec Distributor
Sup fellas... why does everyone think that a LS distributor will fit on the Vtec head?? Theres peeps in the classifieds section trying to sell their Vtec head and the dude that wants to buy it asks if his stock LS distributor will work. ITS NOT GONNA WORK! Even if you cut 2 legs off your stock distributor the last leg remaining won't even line up with an available hole. The reason it won't work is because the cam grooves that line up with the rotor are totally offset. So instead of firing on the number 1 cylinder, the number 3 is firing. Thats why the stock LS distributor won't work. You need to find a Vtec distributor!!
the ls dist will work just have to cut off one of the leg it won't line up so only one bolt will work and that the top one I did that before just to get my car running
but b17a is obd-1 is it not?they came in 92-93 gs-r's. the ist gen jdm b16 motor is non-obd, and from what i understand the closest usdm replacement is a 90-91 ls distributer, break off one of the mounting legs.
the b17 is obd-1 and btw there is no jdm b16a1, and yes ls distributers do work on vtec heads and it really not that ghetto, you just cut one leg off to clear the spool valve (aka vtec solenoid).

yes using a LS dizzy maybe "ghetto" but it works if you do not have the extra cash just laying arounf to buy a new dizzy.the reason why this LS dizzy wont line up is the VTEC soienoid.
