Default BYE BYE 2ND GEAR

well I was driving to school this morning and when I went to shift into 2nd gear my left foot slipped off the clutch which caused me to mishift..so my 2nd gear is GONE! 1,3,4,5,6,R work perfect though any idea how much a 2nd gear would cost? also I heard about a gears that would make the accel on my S quicker would this be a new final drive or what?

you should be able to get it back into second. Sometimes people have trouble with certain gears locking out but then eventually they come back and work themselves back to normal.

is your car under warantee? try to double clutch it in. push in the clutch, pull it into neutral, let off the clutch and reapply it then pull into second. S2000's have 2 cone sincronizers, if your clearing the first cone and still bieng locked out of the second one it will rev up and you have explaned. (im pretty sure anyways.)

I know people that lost 5-6 gears in the S can regain the gear by forcing the shifter into the slot and holding it there(without it popping out)

not sure how well it work with all the carbon syncro

i scratch the gear sometimes..........but that sucks, if ur under warranty you should be good. if not get it quoted and see, we cant really say how much it would be reasson being is some shops charge more then others. As far as getting it fixed, if its not honda make sure you take it to a good rated shop. so you dont get bullshit done. Good luck R.I.P 2nd gear!

take it back to them and complaine. my tranny was rebuilt in my EP3 and still messed up and 2nd grinded with 2000 miles on it (babied, no racing or fast shifting) so we traded it in and now i drive an S2000 :-) no complaints.

i've noticed that my S2K is pretty fast against mostly ALL opponents(especially boosted), and theres really NO need to be F*CKING up the tranny by FORCING it hard into the gears!!! i rarely even take it to 8800 or 9000 RPMs!!! I can shift fast, but theres really no need... UNLESS its that special day at the track or strip when u wanna get that good time!!! Are ya'll the same way with ur s2k's or no???
