Default Steering wheel swap

I've got a steering wheel that I would like to put in my 89 hatchback. There ae no air bags to deal with. I've read how to remove the honda steering wheels, etc, but I want to know if there may be any issues with installing a different wheel. Do I need to look for some sort of adapter kit, or will it just bolt on and work ok?

What kind of steering wheel is it? If it is a Momo, then you will need a Momo hub. If it is an OEM Honda one, it should be pretty easy to put in won't need any sort of an adapter.

Very nice. I think I may go out and see what I can do. I haven't had my car long, but it needs a few changes, since they previous owner gave it his own "personal touch" by giving it a wild paint job and redoing the interior in colors that do not match the paint job. I'm not happy with the color scheme, but it is definately unique.

Well the steering wheel is an Autotecnica, but I took it out of another vehicle that i had. I know that they make adapter kits for them, but it wasn't needed for the vehicle that it was in before, so I'm not sure about the Honda. I may have to actually go out and see if I'm going to need anything.

Well since I haven't seen si90rex's car, I can't comment. I need to get some pics of my car so you all can point and laugh at it. Until I do, I'll give you a description to visualize. The body has been painted the color of Mountain Dew with blue and silver squiggly lines all over it. I think he previous owner was planning on putting blue and silver flames on it and these are just an outline, or possible the result of a drunken party. The interior is cobalt blue and silver. The blue on the interior matches the blue squiggly lines on the body.

I was bored, so I went to Autotecnica's website, and found this Q on the FAQ.

Q: Is an adapter needed for Autotecnica steering wheels? (top of page)

A: All Autotecnica steering wheels are designed to fit a 5-hole adapter, which are available at most local retailers. An Autotecnica spacer part # 570146 is sometimes needed on certain applications.

If it is a five hole it should work with a Grant adapter available at most Kragens and such.

Take the wheel with you to match it up. No issues and your horn might work too!
Just make sure you tighten the nut on the adapter good.

I got to looking at it and i think I will need some sort of adapter, but I'm out here in the middle of BFE, so my choices on auto part stores are limited, but I'll see what I can find locally first before i resort to ordering the wrong thing online
