are there any other rotors available with aluminum hats other than the Project Mu rotors? i don't feel like spending $650 on FRONT rotors. just to save a minor bit of weight... however, if there are any others available in the neighborhood of $250 per rotor... i'd pony up. thanks.

The hats should not be made of billet aluminum. I forget the reason why but I was told it was a big no-no from a very knowledgable person in the brake industry. Be sure they are forged or made of another metal.

If I was going to take a stab I would think it's from the elasticity.
