404's have a nasty idle and i really dont think they are good for DD. If you just want some more fun get teh 403's and a good tune.

Get the 404. Most people have gotten a 404 after they got a 403. The idle isnt bad after you tune it.

I have 403s right now with dual valve springs and cam gears. No tune yet, but it idles 99percent STOCK. It sounds meaner and the top end pulls harder. Low and mid is the same IMO, but then again im not tuned. Im going to tune with crome after I put my turbo set up on hopefully within the next week or so!!!

I would also get the 404s. It's not really THAT big of a deal and you do want the most power, right? You also really need to upgrade your valvetrain; look into Ferrea.

220,xxx miles is alot. before doing any internal upgrades, you might as well get the head measured first. i did what you are planning to do and i just ended up starting all over again with a newer head and internals. check for deck warpage, valve seating, etc.

404's was a burn over the winter. id stall while waiting for the damn motor to warm up. its pretty beefy
