NEED HELP RIGHT NOW (JDM 1st gear and Final drive issue)
HI. i just picked up my tranny from my local shop .
I just got the final drive done by these guys.
i gave them these parts followed by my 4.9 FD
1st gear 23421-P80-E30
Distance collar 23914-P80-E30
Needle bearing 91107-P80-E31
They said they didnt have to use my new first gear.
is it even possible to install the JDM final dirve on 2001 USDM ITR tranny ???
so only thing they swapped out is. these two parts

i need help before i destory my ITR tranny

to tell you the truth, i have never tried installing the 4.7/4.9 without those parts.
my impression was the countershalf was bigger, the reason for the 1st gear and parts.

Me thinks you're gonna have some 1st gear engaging problems...........I dont see why they didnt just take the first gear off and replace like u told them to.........I would not even have paid those retards
Bring your car to someone that knows Honda's......sounds like u brought that **** to AAMCO or something and some dumbass hick in the back was like "Gee I bet we can save 5 minutes by just leaving that 1st gear alone!!!!!"

it must need all the parts you list above. as other said, i never seen one done with the listed parts.
if you have a 4.785 FD tranny(2nd gen type R tranny) before, its another story
