I was just wondering what is the best and cheapest way to upgrade my front brakes on a 92 Accord? I'm looking to boost and I need to upfrade my brakes. Which rotors and brake pads should I use? I'm going to convert to rear drums soon, but for the front does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
It's the right forum, the best thing to do is search. It's been cover quite a bit recently and you'll find I post these same links over and over. But here you go anyway.
1997 Accord Brake Tutorial
Applies to all 90-97 Accord front brakes
V-6 Front Brakes on a '95 4cyl
95 Accord Legend 2 Piston Brake Upgrade
5th Gen 5 Lug Swap and Brake Upgrade
Rotor-Over-Hub Conversion
Front Rotor-Over-Hub Conversion
4th Gen Rear Disc Brakes
Rear Drum to Disc Conversion
SUSP: Rear Disc Conversion
As for what brands to use. For rotors, I use Brembo blanks. For the pads, I used carbon-metalic pads from AutoZone on my last Accord. They were lifetime warranty, had good solid pedal feel, no fading (but I never raced with them either), little dusting and weren't harsh on the rotors. Do some searching though, many have asked which pads to get and they received answers from stock to varies aftermarket pads. You may also consider changing the brake fluid while your at it if it hasn't been done in a while.
Hope this helped you.
