To all you guys with 04's and 05's coupes listen up.

Have you tried an aftermarket "ebay mesh grille" off an '01-03.

Im willing to try it if anybody can' convince me otherwise. Ive done some research, and Im willing to be the guinea pig.

Looking on http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com, in their exploded diagrams, it looks like the measurements are the same, and by looking at the 03's and 05's, on the 03,the lip piece on the bumper is one whole piece with the grille itself.

On the 05, the trim lip on the bumper and the actual grille is 2 pieces.

Like I said, ONLY IF YOU HAVE tried it before me, let me know if it will not work without a question.

EDIT: Heres a picture of an '03 coupe:

Heres a shot of mine from the same angle. Tell me you dont think this will work and why not:

2nd EDIT: I just measured the opening in my '05, AT THE HOOD; CORNER TO CORNER ON THE TOP: 27 inches +or- 1/4 inch

Top to bottom at the tallest point BUMPER TO HOOD: 4 3/4 inches. +or- 1/4 inch.

I've had a friend who tried it and he said it didn't work, there were gaps, but on the other hand someone on cardomain has posted it with the grille. however he said it isn't very secure. Just make your own grille like i did, cheaper and looks niicer. Look around the ost and you should find my vic.

i like the look of that. how did you attach it to the bumper/trim piece?

Im assuming thats just some mesh from autozone painted black, or can you get it anodized black from the store?

They're also a gay chrome color.

And I dont want to spend that much for something i can make myself if i wanted to for 20-30 bucks.

Grill-Crap Link.

That looks gay to me personally, plus for the '05, you have to cut, and I'm not cutting ANYTHING on MY car.

Almost 300 bucks for the set, upper and lower??? You got me F'd up.

You still got me F'd up. I can go to my old O'Reilly's store i used to manage and got the SAME THING for 25 bucks, spend 5 bucks on spraypaint, and do it myself.

150 bucks is outreageous.

BTW: You can put 2 links in one post.

sounds like a good idea but with this it takes all work out, plus using spray paint on any part of a car is lame and prob start chipping after a while imo...

i can keep painting it for a year or so and still come out a hundred bucks saved. so what.

That doesnt negate the fact that to look clean, youd have to get both lower and upper, and thats over 260 bucks.

Someone wanna join me in a BIG HELL NAW!!!!

I aint spending 300 bucks on something that looks like garbage.

The Grillecraft model looks rather rediculous, if you ask me. It's basically a useless add-on. Much like Tenzo-R floor mats.

I'd say you're probably going to have fitment issues, but for $20-$30, it's not a huge loss. Plus, if you can at least mount it to the radiator cover with the plugs, then you can adjust any gaps on the front with some talented bondo/fiberglass use.
