I just attended their shifter kart school on Saturday. Just tell me the date...I'll own you guys
.
Sounds good, always wanted to try that.
Dromo is hell-a-fun and cheap too....only $20. Full driving suit, head sock, neck cushion, gloves, helmet.

You don't wanna go during those hours for the $20 rate. Trust me, it won't be worth it. I went once on a Friday at 5 or 5:30 and my friend and I were the only ones on the track. Sounds good, but the karts were also totally cold, and the tires were as well. I was a good 1-1.5 seconds slower than my regular pace (so was my friend), and that pissed me off...so now I only go 7:00 or later Friday or Saturday night.
$20 was pushing it...$25 is ridiculous! I have now banned Dromo 1. They are getting too greedy IMO. I`d rather spend an extra $100 and take a 1/2 day karting class and actually learn something in a FAST kart

I talked to one of the guys that works there and he told me that the increase in price was due to the increase in minimum wage. The workers don't get free races either. I don't know if that argument justifies a $5 increase, as it looks like they're making more than enough bank already.
If you're gonna take a karting class and you've already been driving single speed karts for a while, try shifter karts. I am pretty damn sure you'll think it's worth the money.

A couple friends and I went down to dromo1 after sema on Saturday. We had a blast! I think it would be alot more fun on a bigger track with a faster kart. I'm down for one of the above mentioned schools. It's more $$; but, worth it, I think.
I also checked on a group price. They told me that an afternoon on Saturday would go down like this.
2 hour grand prix:
$ 65 a person.
20 person min.
Check up on those other two places (Ryan and Manveer) and lets hit one up. Maybe make a poll. See what people are down for.
laters,
Brian

The thing with schools is that I don't know if I'd want to go since I just blew $425 on an intro to karting school...I'd be more down for a more advanced school or something. Were those group prices for Dromo1? I don't even think they have 20 karts...they have 18 or 19 or something. KRC gets expensive, and you have to take their intro to karting school first to participate in their other events. Their arrive-and-drive races are $450. But if you can work out some group rate for less than $100 and at least 1 hour of track time I'd definitely go for it (preferably with slicks on a real surface, not that finished concrete **** at dromo).
