B16 Swapped CRX wont start and I have a question
OK the car has been sitting for about ten months now.
I think I have it sold and now it wont start. I know the old gas may be part of the problem but here is my other question.
When the key is turned to the on position I sould hear the fuel pump come on right? It does not. I am just trying to figure out what would cause the fuel pump to fail since the car has just been sitting. It will turn over but wont fire.
Any help would be great.
Sorry if I sound like an idiot, its late and I am tired.
Oh its a 88 CRX DX with a jdm b16a swap and pr3 ecu

i have the same problem and have been told many times to replace the main relay. the little box that clicks under the dash on the left wall of the car. turn to acc. then listen for a click. then you have it
The battery is nearly dead, but I have jumper cables conected to my accord.
I guess I will check the relay now. Should the relay click when the key is turned on?

Are you getting spark atleast? if you dont know how to check---pop off one of the sparkplug wires from the distributor,,then hold the wire an 1" or so from the distributor and you should see spark when someone else tries to start it..
Also are you sure you're not getting fuel? you dont smell any around the fuel rail when you're cranking? Also the stock pump is pretty damn hard to hear to me if you have full interior..

it could be the pump
But there is only one way to find out

Find a schematic for the main relay and just use a piece of wire to jump the wires that control fuel delivery and if that gives you fuel its yuor main relay, and yes hondas have loud *** fuel pumps (to me and my crx at least) and I can clearly hear the "dunk" when I turn the key if Im looking ot hear it.
OK so I tested my relay an thought that was the problem. Now I have a brand new one and the pump still is not getting power. What is next?

Alright, that fuse was bad. I replaced it and now the relay clicks when I turn the key on. With a test light I can tell the fuel pump is getting power now but it still does not come on.
If the relay clicks, it means its bad. Take it out and smell it, it might smell like its burned. I had the same problem in my EG. The relay would click and the car would just turn over and wouldnt start. Replaced the relay and it turned on.

uhm, no. WHen you first turn the key to ON (to prime for fuel) it will click (the CEL comes on at this time too), then a few seconds later the CEL will go off and the relay will click again. this is all normal.
if it clicks like mad while cranking then its bad.

If the relay clicks a lot while cranking, then its bad. That's what I meant, but i should have been more clear about it. Sorry bro

it can.. but it can also mean there's a ground missing / loose somewhere (most notable the thermo-stat ground).
