after rebuild my car wont hold idle. it'll start up, idle will drop, oil light kicks on and then dies. i adjusted the throttle cable to keep the idle up above 600rpm or so, to keep the car running, but i need to know why it wont hold idle. everything was fine before the rebuild. oh yea, vtec isnt engaging either. help me out, thanks.

 

oil pressure.that would be why the kight came on, then the car died. what motor?

oil pump could be bad also check your vaccum lines you may have missed one

 

vacuum lines are all good. how could the oil pump have gone bad? i had no problems with oil pressure before the rebuild..

 

oil pumps give out in time sometimes they last as long as the car but if you are iddling low and your light comes on well then you don't have any oil pressure

 

would a clogged pickup cause this?
