I'm gonna be driving around like this for a week or 2 until i get my 3" exhaust. Ive heard open DP hondas at the track and stuff, but never ridden in one. How bad is it?.. can u hear music?.. oh, and can you still hear the bov?

floorboard really shakes (no carpet or dampening)... after a good 30 min drive my heels are a bit numb. Kinda like your *** after a couple hours on a harley. Don't flame, I was just along for the ride...

ive seen some guys out at the races with them. When you are just cruising it doesnt sound THAT bad...just like a bad exhaust leak. When you get on it its a different story though.

 

do you have a cat on? i am running just a cat and stright pipes and it is not loud at all. but that is like +-15ft of pipe not just 2

I am running open now, it rules!! You can really hear your turbo spool! Its pretty loud when you first take off until you start cruising, then its bearable. Its hard to keep it down near cops but its possible. My car sounds like a rice can but rice-boys beware!!! I am not like you!!!

 

I ran open dp for about 8 months out here in Cali. I`m still stunned that I was never pulled over. Its sounds extremely loud at 1st, but you get used to it pretty quick. After a while, it was just normal to me. Maybe I went a little deaf

 

open DP is Great its not as bad as you think

i think it is a little of both. the sound when it idles is sweet. not loud but sounds good

 

After about 20 mins, you get a little used to it.. but I was getting headaches all the time with an open DP, so keep the Tylenol handy!

 

ooooooooo when i had my open downpipe, idle was soooooo sexy! but once u start going Gotta love the turbo response though It was not as loud as i thought it would be. Just dont get pulled over, or else yoiu will have fix-it tickets up the ***

Open downpipe for 45 min gave me the most splitting headache ever!

we never ran exhausts in all the turbo cars that we had(before we got the all motor madness) 2-3 yrs daily drivng. Why bother. its just as loud as those APexi, 5 Zigen fart cans anyways.

Very loud. Don't even think of pulling into a neighborhood late at night. Smells real bad too.

When mine was open, I'd pull into the garage and immediately shut the car off. Even then, the whole house would smell like exhaust for a few hours.

 

I just took off my 2.5" exhuast yesturday, and have too drive with no exhaust till saturday when I put on my custom 3".

yeah, it sounds sweet at idle, but when the waste gate opens it sounds like ***!!

vibrates my mirrors so bad I have trouble seeing!!

Maybe mine is different. I have an open WG dump off my tial WG (40mm) that runs down the length of my DP and empties out underneath the car. It isn't even that loud at all. In fact, the ONLY time I ever hear it is when the WG opens up. Cruising around- nothing- no extra noise, no exhaust coming out- only when I hit full boost and the spring opens.(Why would there be exhaust flowing out of the WG if it was closed(meaning the spring hadn't reached threshold?)

It sounds a little louder(kind of like a huge sucking action through a big straw in a large cup that has just sucked up the last amount of liquid in there).

 

you can hear the loud whistle sound from turbo, like you were driving a semi-truck, very cool. I love it.

I drove my car with open downpipe for like 1 day. With all those fumes spewing it, your car (interior) will smell like crap and plus you'll be at risk of lung/throat cancer.

I couldn't stand the smell of exhuast fumes and how loud and shitty it sounded.
