code 12 - egr valve. I have one? wtf...
1990 civic si/b18a1 swap
Okay, this one has been confusing me since the swap...
I'll be driving for about a minute, then the check engine light comes on. I notice no issues with how the car runs. Code blinks one long and two short, telling me a code twelve. According to the integra manual, this means code 12, which is egr valve. What gets me is that the manuals always say either california emissions, automatic, or HF only. I am none of those things.
Second question is where the heck is this egr valve (IF i have one)? Anyone have pictures? the diagrams in the manuals aren't exactly helpful.
I suppose I could have an ecu problem. Is there a way to tell? ecu is a pr4.

if you are getting code 12 and don't have EGR, you must have ECU from automatic or Calif car that is looking for EGR and can't find it - what is the number on the ECU? should be 37820-PR4-A01 (A02, A10, etc.) - if it is 37820-PR4-A50 (A60, etc.) it is from automatic - if the first letter after PR4 is 'L' instead of 'A', it is Calif
sonofabitch...i just checked it and its an a60...buyer beware i guess. Thanks for the reply, at least I know I don't have to track down a valve I don't even have!
