Default ARP Head Stud Question

Has anyone else installed ARP head studs on a H22A1 (close deck) engine?

I was curious if anyone else has run into any problems with the stud lengths.

I ordered a set and the part number is for the H22A4, and there is no part number the the H22A1. I called up ARP with the part number and ARP says there is no difference between the two.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,

I can tell you they are NOT the same, I have tried them. The head studs are not the correct length.

The only thing I can guess is maybe the difference is because of the open vs. closed deck.

being open or closed deck does not change the deck height or dimensions of the motor.

I had the same question a long time ago.

I'm pretty sure the part #'s are different from Honda on the stock bolts too, but if they work then they work.

yes the stock ones are 6pt bolts on the 92-96 and 12pt bolts on the 97+ i believe. i am not sure what yr they made the change, but thats the difference, in the bolt head.
