Default To turbo or not to turbo? That is the question...

Its now time for the next chapter of this civic story to take place. I've done what I wanted with the B16, B18, K20 and now the K24 is going in. The problem I now face is to turbo or not. I want to thank everyones comments and support on the civic project because I am dead certain that it was the comments made on this forum that got the car in the June issue of Honda Tuning. So, lets hear it for the turbo or na?

booooooooooooooooooooooooooost

boost is just the only way to go for 4 cylinders if you want power. NA is just too f'n expensive. but yes the NA motor will scream from the inside

lets put it this way. I raced my friend's friend in his GT 4.6 with my 16 second (I ran it) prelude. After the race we were neck to neck and I pulled ahead when we had to pass. We did two rounds on a 2 mile strectch. He was trying to tell me his car was 13 seconds. I didn't say anything and now were up for a run against my civic. Hes putting a "Saleen" Charger on his stock shitty block which is sposed to boost him up to 11s (LOL). Only 10s stangs I see are fully built twin turbo at the track, and his was boggin down. First question he asked was "Is it turbo?". I replyed no. Two-step with a 70 shot smacked onto a fully built and bored B16. Thats the beauty of all motor. Making money.

haha, right on man. Thanks for catching that for me. 122mpg, man, that is a super hybrid! haha

as far as the 4.6 mustang GTs, they are hands down much faster than a prelude. Ive driven my cousins at the track MANY times. Bone stock it ran consistant 14.5s. Maybe your friend needs driving lessons.

Here is the thing. I have a 98 integra here that was just turbocharged. We tuned it on the dyno and it made 367whp with a $2300 turbo set up. Now, if I go the NA route, it will cost alot and not make nearly as much power.

The question then is, do I sacrafice sound for raw power?

I ran 14.8 in my barely over stock Prelude...I've beaten alot of mustangs at the track. So hands down, the prelude can beat alot of mustangs.

And yes, sacrafice power for more consistant power and the noise...NA is raw, untamed power in my opinion. But I'm doing both to 2 different cars.

I could tell
A. He couldn't drive
B. His engine has been beat on many times

So basicly that charger will blow his head off.

Its well worth the respect and reliability (R&R).

Oh yea with N/A you can run AC and not have to worry about the many horrors of forced induction. Wait I'm running nitrous....

you can run AC with FI also. All you need to do is make sure your cooling is set.

Yea but you need make sure your cooling needs to be set... Custom piping vs a bracket if you have anything bigger than a t3/t4.
